Problem Note 37680: ERROR: "An error occurred processing the requested group break information" occurs in SAS® Web Report Studio

DetailsHotfixAboutRate It

In SAS Web Report Studio, you might see the following error message when attempting to add a group break to a report.

An error occurred processing the requested group break information

When you click OK, your group break selections are reset to back to None.

In addition, the SAS Web Report Studio log will contain an error similar to the following.

com.sas.apps.citation.model.rom2.bygroups.CitationByGroups - Fail to set group page break java.lang.IllegalArgumentException: An improper type of object was specified as input: com.sas.iquery.metadata.business.impl.DataSelectionImpl. This problem occurs when the information map that is being used in the report includes BI row-level permissions (see About BI Row-Level Permissions).

As a workaround, you can perform the following steps:

  1. Temporarily remove the security filter from the information map.
  2. Edit the report to add the group breaks.
  3. Save the report.
  4. Add the security filter back to the information map.
